Beautiful romantic dresser box is manufactured and signed Limoges France. It measures 4-1/4" in diamter and is just over 1-1/2" high. Blue and gold surround the body and rim while a romantic scene signed by Fraggonard is in the center. An exquisite piece with a romantic, victorian accessory. A ladies " Vanity" - A private place to ponder, play, reflect and dream. A place to try out a new hairstyle, perfume or expression. Beautiful dresser and vanity containers or boxes were considered a necessity for a ladies boudoir. They were used not only for powder, but for hair clippings, small trinkets, rings and scent pomanders. They were made of glass, porcelain and metals - sometimes gold or sterling.
