Vintage Taxco Mexican Silver Pin/Pendant signed "BETO" is signed .950 which is better than sterling silver. Although this artist is documented as having produced in Taxco during the eagle mark years, no eagle mark is present on this piece. Because it contains a higher silver content than sterling, with the absence of the eagle mark, we are led to believe that this is an earlier piece. The beautiful ethnic Mayan design and abalone inlays make this a very stunning piece of early Taxco ethnic silver art. The pin measures approximately 2 x 1-7/8" and has a safety closure as well as a generous loop at the top of the reverse to allow it to be worn as a pendant as well. In Excellent Condition, it is signed "BETO TAXCO MEXICO" in a circle with the numbers 950 in the center and "STERLING" stamped below the circle. A very nice vintage, signed Taxco sterling find!
