Victorian Aesthetic Movement Carved Walnut Burl Dresser
The bed has sold. We still have the dresser. We were informed that set was made by Berkey and Gay in the late 1900's.
The most intricate and incredible Victorian Suite I have carried is this Victorian Eastlake Aesthetic Movement late 19th Century Carved Walnut Burl Bedroom Suite.
Aestheticism (also the Aesthetic Movement) is an intellectual and art movement supporting the emphasis of aesthetic values more than social-political themes for literature, fine art, music and other arts. Begun in England and carried over to America at the end of the Victorian period. This set has the best aesthetic incised carving that I have ever seen.
The mirrored dresser is 53 inches in width, 23 inches deep and 90 inches.
You may view this set at our Antique and Collectibles store located at: 501 North 10th Street on the corner of Richards Blvd. Our hours are 10-4:30 Tuesday thru Saturday, 11-3 on Sunday and closed on Monday.
