Stunning Edward Melcarth (1914-1973) "Heroic Head" or sometimes referred to as "Roma Head". Dark Green bronze patina.
This is scuplted resin and a very heavy 12 pounds. Mounted on a square cast base. We believe this and the foundry stone type were commisioned and made in very limited quantities. Normally they sell for $1000 and upwards.
Incised "Jc" copyright and also "Melcarth 68' ".
Piece measure 13 inches in height including the base and 6 inches wide as well as 6 inches deep.
This work of art is in excellent condition.
