A Khmer style Angkor period, bayon style 12century bronze figurine. Items similar to this have been sold at auction for $300.
The same type of bronze has been offered as "Shiva" in another auction. This bronze figure of a "five-headed ten-armed deity, probably Sadasiva Khmer, Angkor Period, Angkor Wat style, 12th Century, standing, with a number of his hands holding lotus stems. The sampot pleated at the front and back. We feel this is a rather later version in the khmer style with an artificial patina.
This figure is on a solid walnut round base which is 5 inches in diameter and 2 1/2 inches in height. The figure by itself is 14 inches tall.
The statue is in excellent condition but the base is a little rough. Weight is 5 pounds.
