1973 Erik Granit Finland Sterling Ring w Dangling Ball Charm

Erik Granit, famed Nordic designer of Finland, created this unique dangling ball ring in sterling silver in 1973. The design is minimal and sculptural and represents an elevated design genius because the ring has personality. The design is as iconic as Robert Indiana's love ring from the same period. Fun to wear and fun to watch.

The ring is a Size 7-1/2 and is signed inside the shank in two places. On one side, it is signed, "925 Sterling Finland" below the maker's mark for "Erik Granit", the national mark for Finland, the silver purity mark "925", the town mark for Helsinki and the date letter "U7", dating the ring to 1973. On the other side, it is signed "E.Granit & Co. Design Jewellery".

The silver bead is over 12mm. The band is about 1/8" wide at the back and tapers slightly towards the ball and chain. It weighs 4.6 grams.

It is in Excellent Condition with a pleasant, hushed patina of age.

It belongs equally in collections of Scandinavian / Nordic silver, Finnish jewelry, Mid Century Modern Silver, Modernist Design and it is very wearable alone or stacked with others.

Your iconic Erik Granit ring will arrive in our signature gift box with silver stretch tie, ready to love or give.
