Unakite Sterling Silver Ring Modernist Amoeba Design Vintage
Mid Century Modernist Unakite Sterling Silver Ring features an amoeba shape whose nucleus is a beautiful cabochon of unakite. This is a very interesting ring. While the amoeba can shape shift into many different forms, it is the most basic form of life. Tthe verdant greens and soft coral pinks of the unakite are said to be filled with healing power and love - a nice balance between science and emotion. It is said to relieve stress and promote balance in life.
Although the discovery of the amoeba goes back to 1775, the abstract art forms of Miro and Calder found an enthusiastic audience by the Mid Century. An attempt to revert to the most basic of forms has been a topic throughout art history for the rest of the the century and beyond.
The face of this unique and meaningful ring is approximately 1 x 7/8" and the cabochon is 10.5mm. It is a Size 7-1/4 on the ring mandrel.
The beautiful genuine unakite cabochon is approximately 1/4" proud.
The ring is in Excellent Condition and is signed, "JAYEM STERLING SILVER MADE IN THE REP. OF S.A."
A meaningful statement ring Ca. 1960s that will remind its wearer of the importance of considering the basic elements of life, science and humanity to bring balance on a daily basis.
