Margot de Taxco Rainbow Confetti Leaf Earrings
Margot de Taxco rainbow confetti sterling silver leaf earrings display the amazing signature enamel work that her vintage shop created Ca. 1945.
They measure approximately 1-3/8 x 3/4" and have properly working ear screws. They weigh approximately 9.4 grams. They are in Excellent Condition.
The labor intensive enamel work is described in "Mexican Silver" by Morill and Beck on Page 169 as follows:
"When pressed into the die, the silver for the champleve jewelry had recesses for the enamel which were one to two millimeters lower than the surface. The women applied the enamel with tiny brushes according to Margot's drawings. Each color had to be apart from the other, as the enamels would not mix to create a new shade."
The earrings are marked on each earring, although somewhat illegibly,5405, Eagle stamp 16, Hecho in Mexico, Sterling. and the design is a well-documented Margot design.
Your beautiful, vintage Margot de Taxco earrings will arrive in our signature gift box with silver stretch tie, ready to love or give.
