Vintage Elgin American compact in the original box and packaging with the original puff that has never been used is a delightful relic of femininity from the 50s.

It measures 3-3/8 x 2-3/4".

There is a flake of enamel missing at approximately 5:00 on the bottom right, front. We almost didn't notice it because it can easily blend into the design at a glance.

The original label is partially remaining on the inside of the powder section. This can be removed with a little Goo Gone, but we like the nostalgia of the original label. The outer box has evidence of a superficial water spill on the bottom left corner. The inside of the box was not affected and does not smell or have any kind of evidence of water.

There is some writing on the bottom, of the box: "w blue cloth"; otherwise, everything else seems to be in never-been-used, albeit very old condition.
