This Pennino necklace and earrings set is pure elegance! Founded by Orest Pennino, in 1927, this company was known for it's high end, and amazingly crafted costume jewelry. Produced in small quantities, this jewelry was done in sterling or gold-plated metal, and designed using the best in materials, construction, and intricate workmanship. Thus it has always been highly coveted and sought after because of it's scarcity and quality. This set is a gorgeous example of Pennino. The necklace is done in gold-plated metal. The center section consists of (8) links of 5/8" diameter disks filled with dazzling faceted Austrian crystal baguettes. Each side has a beautiful fine snake linked chain. One side has a finishing hook, and the other side has linked extension chain finished with a beautiful textured teardrop. The total length of the necklace is 17-1/2" and is marked "PENNINO" on the back of one of the disks. In addition "JH 4-6" is etched underneath. This necklace just caresses the collar bone, and glistens in the light. Each clipback earring is an exact duplicate of one of the disks in the necklace, and once again, measures 5/8" in diameter. One earring is marked "PENNINO" with "JH 15-7" additionally etched on the clip. Each earring is a perfect fit on the ear lobe, catching the light and adding just the perfect sparkle to the face. I can find no reference to the etched marks. I believe this set was made in the 1940's This set is in excellent condition, and is a definite must for your collection!
