This adorable owl measures only 1" but packs a powerful visual ! Goldtone base with jade cabochon and leaf and, I believe, garnet cabochon eyes. This is signed on the back, but I cannot make out the signature. I have tried until my eyes blurred. Maybe you can make it out, but regardless it is a beautiful pin ! Owls have long been popular as jewelry subjects perhaps because of their mystery. They are associated with wisdom and said to be able to "penetrate the darkness of ignorance" linking it to the goddess of learning, Athena.
