Item Description:

We have for your consideration a vintage Barbie & Ken case (with doll) that was made by Mattel & Company back in 1963. This case was available in several colors however the one that we have up for auction comes in RED.

PLEASE NOTE that this auction encompasses 1 Blonde PonyTail Barbie doll : a #2 or #3 model, (no Ken doll) and the accompanying case / clothes. Her hair looks great no marks on her, legs are arms are slightly discolored as pictured. There are a lot of great original Barbie Outfits with this set including the Black Dress she has on.

The case itself is red and measures 13" in height, 10" in width and is approximately 7" deep. Despite it's age, the case itself is in good - very good condition. There are a few scuff marks present but the case exterior does not show any rips / tears. The red, blue, black and white colors on the exterior are still quite sharp.

Barbie herself stands 10.75" tall and is approximately 2" in width. Due to this doll's age, this doll is a bit sticky. This is due to the polymers in the plastic breaking down as it ages. This produces a "sticky-to-the-touch" feel when you touch her on her arms mainly; not all of the doll.

She is wearing her full makeup that one would wear for a night out on the town. Her earrings have been removed (but are included in the set) only because when left in contact with her plastic "skin", they turn her ears green. Again this is due chemical deterioration in the plastics used.

This Barbie does come with several articles of clothing: her evening dress which she is wearing, a gold dress, a rabitt fur stole, a purple dress, a lime green dress, a red sweater, striped bathing suit  and a white coat. There a more accessories such as a sewing kit and a tennis racket. for her in her Barbie accessory drawer.  Also included a 5 pairs of shoes: 1 white, 1 black, 1 blue

The Ken accessory drawer also appears to have few items in it.  A couple of original hangers, Tennis Outfit, Cotton Dress, a couple of evening Lame type dresses.

It should be noted that the stickum used to hold the Barbie accessory drawer in place is interacting with the plastic on the bottom of the Barbie side and created a stain on the underside of the Barbie drawer.

A blast from the past to be sure, this time-capsule treasure just needs the right owner to lavish some attention / care on 1963 Barbie.

PLEASE NOTE: SHIPPED PRICE QUOTED IS FOR THE CONTINENTAL U.S.A.  ONLY!
