Up on today’s auction, we have a terrific hand carved ivory elephant figure. This tiny treasure measures 2 – 5/16" in height and 2.75" in width. For a figure this small, there is a large amount of detail shown. Please note that there is very nice graining in the ivory present. Herman the elephant is scanning the landscape to see if any hippos are basking in the local waterhole. Herman may have been damaged in battle with another bull elephant as his left eye is set lower than his right. Plus his trunk lips look a little funny. Buy this tiny elephantine warrior to lead your other hand-carved animals to the waterhole. |
