Item Description:
This is a very nice brooch featuring a large hematite cabochon framed in an ornate engraved bezel. A very nice stone and fashion accessory casual enough for daytime and elegant enough for evening.
Hematite is associated with Capricorn, Aries and Aquarius and is said to be a good, calming and grounding stone. Saturn is the ruler of the stone in astrology, but in Roman Myth, Hematite is a symbol of Mars, the God of War. Hematite was said to protect the warriors in battle. Hematite was used in jewelry during the Victorian era but has become a popular stone in the US in the past 50 years. Care should be taken to protect from chipping.
