Charles Jourdan, famed Paris designer, poured glass Modernist pin / brooch is a forward-looking fashion accessory that pays homage to the 1960s and 70s flower power pins in an elegant way for today. Arguably minimalist with its spare lines, its massive scale is so very fashion forward. The poured glass center of the pin is a sea of deep aqua blue color that changes with th light with even greater vibrancy contrasted with the textured gold color of the open petals. This unusually large, 3 x 3" openwork flower pin is beautifully crafted and substantial. It has a safety closure and is signed, "CHARLES JOURDAN PARIS" on a rectangular signature plaque on the reverse of the pin. The plating on this pin is a luxe shade of high karat gold color and the pin appears to be heavily plated. If one looks closely into the poured glass, there appear to be tiny marks underneath the glass that reflect underneath on the glass itself. We do believe these are from the original manufacture and probably simply a by-product of the process, but we mention them for the sake of full disclosure. The poured glass is so thick and reflects the light so brightly that it is difficult to peer within it for very long. In general, the pin appears to be in Very Good/Excellent Condition. Very large scale pins are just beginning to become a fashion trend, we think this statement pin by Charles Jourdan is just coming into its own. We think it is magnifique! (#46034JourdanPin)
