In kinder, gentler times when a gentleman gave a lady a ring - he also gave her a lovely box to keep it in when not being worn. This is just such a box. These were very popular in all sizes for keeping jewelry and trinkets safe. This one is about 2 x 2" and has a floral design. It sits on 4 tiny legs. The inside still has the original silk fabric and braid in a pale pink. Box is hinged and even carries the design over onto the bottom. It does have some metal wear (not shiny new) but that is part of the charm. |
