This buddha statue shows the varada mudra ("favourable mudra") gesture, it is used whenever a blessing is being offered. It is a gesture of charity to fulfil all wishes. The gesture of generosity is made with the palm and all of the extended fingers held outwards and downwards. It represents ‘open-handed’ generosity as charity or the granting of wishes. He holds an alms bowl or patra in his other hand.
This statue is in excellent condition has great depth and very intricate with the many symbols on the front and back.
10 inches in height, 7 1/2" wide and 5 inches deep.
Weight is 6 pounds.
