antiqued gold tone Christmas tree with a red rhinestone appointed treetop star. This attractive vintage Christmas tree pin by Beatrix measures approximately 2-1/2 x 1-1/2" and has a safety closure. In Excellent Condition, this Beatrix Christmas tree pin is signed in a signature plaque raised from the mold in the center of the reverse of the tree. Unfortunately, some of it is obscured by the pin assembly in the back of the pin, but it is clearly signed, "BEATRIX". The Beatrix Company began in 1946 and was sold in 1975 when the name was changed to B.J. for Beatrix Jewels, named after the original owner's sister, Beatrice. Apparently, the molds were still used when the company changed hands and a similar Christmas tree pin is shown on Page 26 of Nancy Trowbridge's, O' Christmas Tree". This vintage Beatrix Christmas tree pin is an older version, prior to 1975, and signed, Beatrix. We have not seen this tree before and think that it is one of the more rare Beatrix Christmas tree pins. A great example of an early Beatrix Christmas tree pin that is certainly collection worthy and a nice one to wear as well! (#43332-Tree575)
