Item Description:
This is a Nodder Head of Fukurokuju, one of the Seven Gods of Good Luck. He is of Japanese oringin, circa 1890 and probably made in Kyoto. Originally we believe he had a glazed body usually of green and blues but that got lost or broken along the way. This head is attached to a bag or bulb of hardened clay. If by chance you have a broken head of Fukurokuju you are in luck -- here is the head for your body. Unglazed head which measures 3 1/4" inches for the head and 5 1/4 inches including the base. With a body this nodder would be valued at about $300.
