Exotic Composition Painted Plaster Egyptian Queen Bust Statue with many fine features on the face, hair, head dress with chain and dangling earrings. Medallion necklace. Robe on her shoulders has very distinctive imprints of various decorations.
These busts are very rare today.
These were made in Austria in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Recently retail appraisal was for $1200 and we have it here for $895.
This is a most unsual poured composition painted plaster. The hand work after the various molds were poured and combined is very extensive and required a great deal of workmanship. The piece was then painted with a dark blood red finish that varies from very dark to medium.
This piece weighs 12 pounds and measures 17 inches in height, 16 inches wide and 9 inches deep.
This piece is in excellent condition although a repair has been made on the lower left side of the base. You can see that clearly in the photo of the mark and the back of the piece.
