Very detailed Rose Canton or Rose Medallion hand painted and decorated plate (slight bowl shape).
Middle medallion with bird and peony surrounded by village and hill scenes on upper and lower scenes and bird and peonies on side scenes. Gold trim throughout and on rim. Base is oatmeal color.
We believe this to be an older plate from 1840 to 1880. No marks. Note the peonies also on the rim. Thick glaze.
Plate weighs 1 pound 12 ounces and measures 10 1/4" wide, 8 height and 1 1/2" deep.
The plate is in excellent condition with the exception of a slight burnish on the gold rim of the middle medallion as illustrated in one of the photo's.
This is a gorgeous piece and much more detailed than most of this type.
