We believe this to be a Japanse Meiji period reproduction Bronze Tiger Statue which is signed on the inner leg with a crown and what appears to be an "8" with two downward legs and one upward straight arm.
This bronze is most likely 50 to 80 years old, but we can't be positive of that.
This is a large tiger measuring 21 inches long, 9 inches high and 6 inches wide at the head. The tiger weighs 14 pounds.
This bronze tiger is in excellent condition except for three slight blemishes on the left rear leg which are not that evident unless examined closely.
Older Meiji bronze tigers sell for thousands of dollars and we have seen one that is almost identical to this one selling for $10000, although it is larger.
