Item Description:

Molded glass bird motif jewelry has gained a popular following in the last few years. I have seen many pieces, but never one with as many huge clusters of leaves and birds; nor with the gold accent. Each bird, and many of the beads are peppered with gold. There is not a chip or crack in this 17 inch necklace. The colors are bright and gay, showing off a good sampling of over a hundred shades the industry boosts. I would estimate this piece was made in the 1930's in Gablonz, North Bohemia, a small mountain town that owes its existence to the trade, although most people refer to this glass as Murano glass from Italy. Book value $350.
