Two fabulous retro floral brooches in gold over sterling - Similar designs but different color rhinestones. Both pieces are in good condition with some vintage wear to the gold finish but in excellent structural condition. Both are signed "Sterling". Buy them both for $50.00. Retro jewelry refers to the mid 1930's through the end of the 1940's. A Depression loomed and a war was on the horizon. Jewelry reflected the early days of Hollywood as well as the necessity for restriction in the use of metals due to the war. Most retro jewelry was goldtone, plated or vermeil over sterling. Popular was the "rose gold" look. Most pieces were large "star power" pieces featuring large stones with a sleeker shape and design.
