This is a stunning hot cast signed Bronze metal sculpture by the acclaimed 19th century Animalier Alfred Barye (1839-82) son of Antoine-Louis of an angry tethered Pig entitled in English "Ready For Market." This pig is very life like and highly collectable. The Scultpure measures approximately 11" long x 6" high (with marble 7 1/2") and 4" long (with marble 5 1/2"). It is in very good condition throughout, with just a couple of minor scratches on the back of the pig, which are not noticeable unless put under intense light. The marble base is in excellent condition. The bronze pig and marble weigh approximately 8 pounds. This is most likely a reproduction of the original casting. What period I do not know. What a great gift for your hog or pig farmer, or any Razorback fan. Please see our other Bronze figures by clicking on the link below: |
