Vintage Whitney Made Valentine is overlaid with paper lace and cut-outs. The central medallion features a quaint pastoral country scene. The base Valentine has red and pink chrysanthemums and green foliage with stylized gold floral designs and red hearts. The paper lace has its original paper supports underneath and is appointed with cut-outs of a pansie and a young boy in vintage attire. There are pictures of a boy feigning attention to a book and girl glancing sidelong at the boy. They are both dressed in the style of the period sitting on opposite sides of a wooden slat bench encircled by a heart. The Valentine is large and measures approximately 6-1/4 x 6-1/4". It is in Excellent Condition with with no bends or tears and the colors are vivid. The inside is unsigned and the back of the Valentine is lightly marked in pencil, "To Helen From Duewaine."
