Item Description:

Most Mumuye figures tend to be elongated with ribbon-like arms wrapping around the torso. The heads may display a coiffure in the form of a crest with scarification and nasal septum ornamentation reflecting local custom.  These figures were occasionally used for divination and healing. Other figures served as house guardians were used to greet rainmaker's clients.
