This item is from an estate and I'm not sure what it's use was for originally. It is made of metal, possibly pewter, with a brushed finish and engraved dogwood blossoms on both sides. The shape is like a cigarette lighter but the inside does not reflect that use. The insert comes out as shown probably for cleaning. It measures 1-1/2 x 3" and there are no markings anywhere that I can find.
