Item Description:
"Purist" collectors say that "real" Scottish agate jewelry is never hallmarked; hence, precise dating is difficult. After Queen Victoria purchased Balmoral, a castle in Scotland in 1848, Scottish motifs took on a revival from the Gothic period.
Bracelets are a scarce find in Scottish jewelry so I was thrilled to find this one. Set in unmarked sterling with a lovely engraved clasp and a safety chain, the stones are held with a chain link and sterling bobs in-between. There is one repair to the chain in which the bob is missing, otherwise the piece is in mint condition.
The agates mimic the clasp shape and measure 3/4" by 1/2 inch. Remarkably there is not a chip or crack in the bunch. There are two of the coveted blood stones present, making this bracelet a desirable collectors piece.
Note: To add insurance on this package, please add $1.90 per each $50 of coverage. International shipping charge is $8.35.
