Vintage Blue Milk Glass Dresser Jar

Beautiful blue milk glass powder jar measures 3-3/4" in diameter and 2" deep. It has been a part of my collection for many years. The top is a single flower, deeply carved while the body has an all around floral and curly heart  design. A beautiful dresser or table accessory !

A ladies " Vanity" - A private place to ponder, play, reflect and dream. A place to try out  a new hairstyle, perfume or expression. Beautiful dresser and vanity containers or boxes were considered a necessity for a ladies boudoir. They were used not only for powder, but for hair clippings, small trinkets, rings and scent pomanders. They were made of glass, porcelain and metals - sometimes gold or sterling. Handpainted, carved or set with lavish stones they have been a part of a woman's vanity through the ages and into more modern times and designs.
